Term Dates

Please be aware that the Department for Education insists that leave (this includes holidays) can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances therefore requests should be in writing from the parent/carer with whom the child lives and sent to the school as far in advance as possible. Unfortunately, the School is only allowed to give permission in exceptional circumstances and therefore parents/carers are strongly advised to submit a written request to the principal before making any arrangements for leave/holidays. The DfE’s position means that holidays taken during term time are usually unauthorised.

Please note that the Foundation is closed on these days to allow our staff to train and develop (they are included in the School Holidays below).

Our family mornings are a chance to connect, talk and work together with our staff team to discuss the needs of your child or young person. Refreshments are available and you can meet other parents, speak informally with members of our team and also talk about any concerns you might have and get support with their learning at home.

These events are a valuable chance to build strong communication between school and home. When families and teachers work together, children feel more confident, supported and motivated.

What will happen during Family Mornings?

Each family will be offered a 1:1 appointment with your child’s teacher. This dedicated time will give you the opportunity to:

  • Discuss your child’s progress and achievements

  • Share any questions or concerns you may have

  • Talk about next steps and how you can support learning at home

  • Celebrate successes together

While these individual meetings are taking place, the wider education team will host a social session for families. Refreshments will be available, and you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet other parents and carers

  • Speak informally with members of the school team

  • Learn more about the support and opportunities available across the school

Term Time Leave Request Form

As a specialist setting supporting children and young adults with SEND, we accept that travel during peak times might present challenges. We will consider all requests individually, taking account of the child or young adult's needs, wellbeing and safety.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, and parents/carers should not make travel arrangements until written approval has been received.
